Regular Season Round 9: Marlins - Pride 61-49

Marlins can celebrate finally their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Pride (0-4) 61-49 . Marlins forced 27 Pride turnovers and outrebounded them 64-39 including a 30-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Marlins players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for the former international power forward Jana Cupedo who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Ayajabula Mthethwa contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Basetsana Taukobong answered with 2 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Johanna Malapile added 6 points and 4 steals in the effort for Pride. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Marlins maintains fourth place with 1-3 record. It was Pride 's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Rhinos.
